Front Chassis and Wheel Arch

TR7 Restoration Project, Nov-2013

Yet another nasty rust trap on a TR7 is the area behind the front wheel arches where it joins the chassis rail. Here (again!) you can see a patch on top of rusty metal:

The only way to deal with it is to cut it out, which means cutting away the lower wheel arch for access:

After a good wire brushing and some rust treatment it begins to look healthy again. Also needed to remove and replace the plate that holds the captive nuts for the radiator support beam:

 Then its a case of fabricating suitable repair panels and welding it back together:
